Basketball

Welcome to Griffins Basketball.

We participate in the Albany Basketball Association's (ABA) summer competition which runs from October to March each year. For more information on this competition, please visit the ABA's site here.

In 2023/24, Griffins Basketball was home to 28 teams ranging from primary aged children to Mens and Womens A divisions.

Our home base is located at Great Southern Grammar school, Nanarup Road, Albany.

The 2024/25 Season

We now welcome nominations from players, coaches and team managers. Nominations for school aged divisions close on 1 August 2024. To nominate, click here.

Due to such a strong interest in playing basketball the ABA has limited space in many grades and in some instances we can only enter one team (8 players). We therefore encourage you to nominate players as soon as possible. Should a team be at capacity, individuals will be added to a waitlist. Throughout the nomination process our Registrar will do their best to keep you up-to-date. Trials may take place for years 5/6 and older. Dates for trials will be communicated as soon as we are able to.

The Senior Competition will consist of the following divisions: Mens A, Womens A (ABA is hoping these will be played Friday nights to allow games to be fully timed), Mens B, Womens B, Womens C and Mens Vets. Note, Womens C is to replace Womens Vets and the age restrictions will be 30 and over.
